Recently got an offer from Argo AI for a software engineer 2(L4/L5) embedded test role Base @185k Annual bonus@ 15% 2533 RSU's based on a 20B valuation when company goes public. ( Chances are IPO set for later this year, and it evaluates to about 275k over 5 years according to what the HR said. I have no knowledge on how that works out) TC ~ 270k Current TC 145k with 7 yrs of experience #tech #qa #bayarea #argoai #softwareengineersalary
Are you actually getting RSUs or are you being given ISOs? I have never been at a startup that close to going public, so I don’t know what is normal in that regard, but there are big differences between the two types of stocks.
It’s RSUs.
Software engineer II is a L4 in Argo.
Was told I am being hired as a higher L4 borderline L5
this is BS. L4 is L4 and L5 is L5. What is your RSU value 2533? Half millions?
More like 275k
I was hired as an L4 2 years back, now I am L5. My salary was less than 185k and now it is more than 200k. In current market 185k sounds above average for an embedded test role. I might be wrong though.
Looks like a great offer! Especially for Pittsburgh that def goes a long way. I see a few comments mention L5 offers in the bay area cross 200k, just putting it into perspective $270k in Pittsburgh is $527,093 in SF :) I also work in robotics in Pittsburgh and am looking into Argo, cool if I dm you? (or any other employees reading this) I'm a recent grad, have been working for about half a year and am wondering what my expectations should be($$ wise) if I'm looking at entry level roles at Argo.
Sure you can dm me
Hey OP did you end up doing Argo? Also, can I dm you ?
Yes I am at Argo now
$20 billion -> $0. Tough world
L4/L5 base salary for Bay Area are crossing $200k base pay. At L5 RSU’s are much higher than 5,000
$185k is very good for L4 base, a little low for L5. Fits well if you were told you are on the boundary.
