I currently have an offer from Argo for a SWE II position and I find the stock grant size abnormally large, even discounting down the valuation from $20B to $12.7B. What are some median/large grants Argo gives out, and what’s the catch here? Current TC 250 Edit: 4YOE Edit 2: 195 base, 15% target bonus 40k sign on $900k RSUs @20B
Either way congrats dude lol
You’ve gotta post your offer for us to help you evaluate

Sounds about right if you are in the autonomy team. a little high for other sw teams.. but congrats!
Post the offer. We will tell you if the grant is large or not. Also, you are doing the right thing of discounting it by 40% or so since the current valuation is 12.4B and not 20B yet.

Good offer! congrats. It is not abnormal. As discussed $900k is more like $600k (after discounting ~35%) with current valuation of $12.4B. So, your estimated target TC: 195k (base) + 30k (annual bonus) + 150k (stock component) = $375k/year (excluding joining bonus).
Depends on how many shares you are granted.
8200 shares
That’s a great offer IMO. Might be even an exceptional for the level.
level/title?
SWE2
Wow. Definitely top of band offer. Your base is more than mine at Senior SWE
Agree. Exceptional offer
You are getting screwed especially if you are getting good reviews or are in PAO.
Exceptional package for Sde2
The is about the same as a low end senior offer. Guess you did great in the interview.
Honestly I thought I did just OK. Was pretty worried I wouldn’t get an offer at all…
This isn't atypical to what they used to give out years ago. They must be getting aggressive in offers again. The catch here is that 4 years in the self driving business is very exhausting to get all that equity. 4 year retention is not high.
That’s a good point. I ended up taking the Argo offer since I figured I’m still young and now is the time to take risks.
Not much risk actually. If the company won't have a successful IPO next year, you can decide to leave at that time.
How large is the give out?
