Are you allowed to ask about the level equivalence if an offer only has the title? Would this even help so I can then know the boundaries to negotiate better or is the level something you can grasp from the base number?

Do companies ask you to show proof of competing offers usually?

I've personally never encountered that but I don't have much experience with US companies. Maybe somebody else can answer that...

Even if they do, you can always say offers are confidential and you can't share your other offers with them. Depending on your style you could cheekily say they can't show you their offers to other candidates either ;)
