Hi I got an offer at a Sf startup (late stage) last week and they are giving me time till this week for accepting the offer. Meanwhile I have few other interviews lined up but they don't happen until Jan first couple weeks. Can I get the company to extend the offer few weeks. Also need suggestions on how can I make the other companies speed up the process. Should I just tell them that I have got an offer. Some of them are ridiculously slow (giving a two hour take home test after clearing the phone screen!!) I'm not looking to juggle up the salaries mainly want to see where I can get the most interesting work.
Accept the offer to protect yourself and also let the other places that you have a pending offer and have until x day to accept. If they are really interested... they will speed things up! Also... negotiations tend to help move the deadline a bit so If you can... negotiate
Accept an offer even tho you're going somewhere else?
You can ask an extension and usually they are flexible.
You can accept and renege on it later. If it's a startup I don't think I'd care much about burning bridges.
The other companies might speed up if you have a deadline, yes.
