You will be screwed if you run out of projects.

Cognizant Mmmm87 OP Mar 6, 2019

I believe Randstad has lot of clients and my friend is working with them feom last 4 years and changed almost 3 projects

Wells Fargo gyut Mar 6, 2019

The market is tight for last 4 years. Wait for downturn and you see the true colors of these consulting companies. I didn’t mean to discourage you from joining them.. just if possible try to find a full time with your skill set...

Randstad fires you and revokes H1-B if you can't get it into another project after you are done with current project. It happened for my friend, he had to leave the country. Don't mess with them especially if you have dependents here

On which technology he was working?

Cognizant red spine Mar 7, 2019

Great move it is employee friendly..if you are skilled and willingness to learn latest technologies.....dnt worry you will be placed

Randstad is another company or?

Cognizant Imdatguy Mar 7, 2019

Depends on location. Where are you relocating?

Cognizant cMPe34 Mar 7, 2019

I'm from coimbatore.

Cognizant Imdatguy Mar 7, 2019

I meant where are you moving. Your comp would make sense in anywhere but west coast, north west, NY.

Cognizant Imdatguy Mar 7, 2019

You would be fine then. Depending on the technology you work in, I would suggest look up more salary details and negotiate accordingly. It is not about the jump from current level, but what is the fair comp at market level. Cognizant might not be paying you upto market level because you might have come from offshore. See if you can find out about the comp of lateral hires at your level. I would think they would be at 95K level, depending on location and technology.

Cognizant Mmmm87 OP Mar 8, 2019

Thats right i came from offshore. I checked with my few friends they are also getting around 100k. Moreover if i get promote this year in cognizant, max i would get 80k not more than that. Location would be east coast only (not NJ,NY) like NC, ohio, PA

Cognizant uberm Mar 7, 2019

I blv cognizant increased pay even for ppl coming from offshore post visa scrutiny, less than 70 is too less. What is your current location and technology? Yoe: 8+ Current TC:97K Location: Michigan

Cognizant Mmmm87 OP Mar 8, 2019

Ohio and technology MSBI, sql server

Cognizant uberm Mar 7, 2019

Why are you still at A and not promoted? My colleague came in as A 2 years back, kept fighting for fair pay, his TC was increased to 82K in an year, he got promotion this year and a good hike; his current TC is 90K; same yoe. Joined cognizant offshore as fresher

Cognizant Mmmm87 OP Mar 8, 2019

I wish i cud answer that, nobody from my location got EA rating or promoted . Pathetic management and no visibility at all. 90k for SA is too much, i dont think one can get 90k at onsite if he joined as a fresher

Cognizant uberm Mar 8, 2019

Laterals are getting 95-100K at SA (7 - 10 yoe). And this colleague, yes, he joined as a fresher and is getting 90K. Of course he fought every 3 months

Cognizant blxyz123 Mar 8, 2019

Go for it. Just get your I140, stay six months and move to a more stable firm. You can easily survive in Randstand if you are a good developer. They may be doing a lot of C2Cs also.
