For the sake of argument, you have perfect WLB, love the current team/management. What would it take for you (minimum) to take a risk? TC: 170K
It's so strange to talk in percentage when it comes to salary increases. Somebody who earns say 300k vs 400k. Increase of 30k is going to increase the salary for both by same amount, but percentages are different. Does it make sense to think in terms of percentages? Likewise $10 off on a $50 item vs $500 item brings same benefit, it’s just human mind who thinks in percentages when it shouldn’t.
Percentages make sense. In your example, if I buy 10 of the 50$ items I benefit more from the discount than buying 500$ item. In terms of salary, if your salary increases by some percentage, you can increase your expenditure by the same percentage and maintain a fixed saving rate. There by overall standard of living is better.
$30k for someone who makes $100k is more meaningful than $30k for someone who makes $300k
130k to 260k. In a heartbeat.

Happened to me, got a 30% bump in base alone, about 50% overall TC. I already had a great team and amazing wlb and decided to jump ship. Part of me feels bad for chasing the money, but I need to think of it in terms of business, my family, and growth.
170k to 204k wouldn't do it, to 221k would though. 30%.
