Which region has more tech jobs - Atlanta or Austin/Dallas?
Probably about the same. Both are starting to get expensive.
Traffic already sucks plz don't move here
I’m from the Dallas area and I’m in Atlanta now. Unless you’re able to work from home or you find acceptable housing close to the office do not pick Atlanta...traffic is way worse than the Dallas area.
Even close housing is sometimes not enough. I live 2 miles from the office and often takes me 30 mins if I don't leave ahead of rush traffic. Gotta love game days
I’ve also found equivalent housing to be more expensive in Atlanta and Georgia also has a state income tax where Texas does not.
Austin has more faang type tech jobs than Atlanta and a good city to live. Dallas sucks compared to Austin. If it’s me I would choose either east coast or west coast rather than getting stuck in center where I won’t explore much with a long drive.
Austin rocks. Google/Amazon/Apple/and Facebook are all expanding here. Traffic is a nightmare though
You can get a life sentence for weed in Texas. You won’t be prosecuted for weed in Atlanta.
1. Is the weather (hot) equally bad in Dallas and Austin and Atlanta? How would you rate them in terms of heat(weather) difficulties? 2. Job opportunities seem to be the best in Austin for tech folks, right? So cost of living is probably highest in Austin? (among the three cities) 3. Any other pros/cons, Austin vs Atlanta vs Dallas? 4. How does Raleigh/North Carolina compare to these cities? Weather, tech job opportunities , cost of living etc #dallas #austin #atlanta #raleigh
Good question-Following
Austin for the weather and more tech jobs
