Hello, I am appearing soon for an Onsite at Atlassian SWE backend role. Any advice/suggestions ? YOE - 3 TC 100K in GA What should I expect for TC at Atlassian if offered a job? Location - Moutainview, CA
1) read the values, pretty much all of the "values interview" questions will be mapping things you have done at work to the behaviors represented. Otherwise usual behavioral interview advice applies - show growth, don't talk badly of others, etc 2) tech side is mostly LC medium, although the old split between coding and algorithms into two rounds got compressed to one and things are getting more google like as a result 3} architecture and systems design interview is like basically everyone else's 4) hiring manager interview (or occasionally another delegated manager) is really standard and now separate from the specific values interview With 3you depending on what you have done and if you have a graduate degree or bachelors could be either P3 or P4. P3 typical base is like 130k, P4 like 150k. Maybe up a bit since those numbers are from like a year ago. 10% bonus I think at those levels? Not sure what equity awards are like for those levels now, but this place used to be relatively cheap on equity. Probably looking at TC around 200k for P4 unless equity awards have gone up. P5 with 3yoe isn't impossible but you'd need to be both really good and have a record of leadership
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks a lot, Snorlax. I read through the points you mentioned. I have prepared well for the values questions and will focus on attaching my work experiences with it. I have been practicing LC Medium at the moment. Mostly, 4-5 a day and working through 1 system design interview question. How exactly is the Hiring Manager interview different from the values round? Just curious, these both rounds have 60minutes each so it gets me wondering. Will give my best for this! Thanks again for your response. I appreciated it a lot. If I get an offer, how about I buy you a beer? For now, Cheers!
A lot of the hiring managers seem to disagree about what it's for; some use it as their chance for a technical round (literally was in a debrief today with my manager complaining that a candidate had technologies on his resume that he couldn't explain the use of) while some use it for fit and intereat in their particular team. In general I'd just be prepared for a general behavioral interview, with maybe some general tech questions
Hi Watemln, I have technical phone interview coming up. What would you suggest studying? Leetcode medium?
What was the recruiter phone call like?
Just like usual technical recruiter call. Explaining about process and team
They pay peanuts. Don’t lose your happiness over few thousand dollars. I’d stay back in GA and live a nice life.
GA has great people but it’s just NOT the place where I would recommend a young professional to stay and purse a career in tech. It’s possible Atlanta is booming with startups but life outside work is boring. No oceans/beaches in 4hour radius and I personally love to be around them. It would definitely differ from person to person but I am bored here. P.S. I studied for my masters and worked a year in the bay before moving here. Definitely learnt a lot but not the best place to stay :(
Sounds like Dallas. Move to Austin
