Wanted to provide some insight. Interview started 25 min late cause hiring manager was in another meeting. Spends only 15 min talking and then next interview starts with architect. Doesn't spend time introducing himself properly and just directly starts with problem solving. Seemed very unfriendly and arrogant talking about some concepts. Overall felt it was a waste of my time.
I had the same experience as OP. Apart from that, One interviewer wanted me to solve the problem only with the solution he had in mind.. Didn't even bother to listen to my approach.. I still coded using my approach which worked perfectly in the last 15 minutes I was left with after him bragging about how cool the other approach is.. On leetcode for that question, the top 10 solutions are solved using my approach.. I didn't even find his approach anywhere in the solutions.. +1 for arrogance
A couple of us use problems which are similar to Leetcode ones but with important differences. Have failed a couple people who gave me the solution to the Leetcode problem but who didn't listen to my actual question, and had plenty more who passed but took longer than they needed to because they were initially stuck on the version they prepared.
I was asked the exact same problem from leetcode. But, I had never seen it earlier.. My phone interview were exact three problems from leetcode.. Two of the on site were the exact problems from leetcode..
I interviewed with them too at one point. I did not get the position but also never got feedback...Moreover, I had a similar experience with a flaky hiring manager and recruiting team.
+1
Similar experience as well.
Worst company I've ever interviewed at. Never met such a low caliber of software engineers in my life.
Don’t even get me started on their process and people. Arrogant folks with a fixed mindset. Not millennial focussed. Hiring manager was an asshole. Worst experience- will never apply again.
"Not millennial focussed" sounds like a feature to this old fogie
Same here Atlassian interview was the wrost I have ever had!!! I was interviewing for an M2 position and an SDE II was interviewing me for System Design. She had an exact solution in her mind and kept rudely refusing that my solution would not work without giving any explanation. At one point I had mention etags and specific apis and she said it could not possibly work that way. Immediately after the interview I had to read the API doc to confirm I was right. She had no idea what she was talking about. Stay the heck away..
Same here. Interviewed for M2. Hiring manager was a complete asshole. He was trying to make Atlassian great by belittling the company I used to work for at that time. But I figured we had at least around 2000x more users than them. I didn't bother to correct his false superiority. I felt bad for everyone in his team.
Had the exact opposite experience with them. Great team, respectful and friendly
That's a big part of why I work here. I've also shadowed some interviewers who were less than good. Happens anywhere.
