I’m looking for insight into what it’s like to be a Specialist Leader in the Operational Transformations group. I have the background and interest for the role, but I want to know more. Here’s the link:

~8 YOE in Investment management
M.S Data Analytics
B.S Economics
Experience working with Deloitte consultants as an in-house liaison on projects at my previous firm

  • Yeah I would say you wouldn’t be setting yourself up for success coming in without consulting experience. Maybe Senior Consultant would be better.

  • You don’t have enough consulting experience to be brought in as a specialist leader, or even specialist master. Definitely you would come in as a senior consultant or specialist senior.

  • No one will make you a Sp L in 8 years... Never... It's a long shot even for a manager... Sr Consultant is the only chance... And where do you work now OP? If it's a tiny company, you can only come in as a Consultant after 8 years

      Thanks for the insight. Most of my experience comes from a top 10 global asset management company. I recently moved to a small wealth management company to lead the inorganic growth strategy. From what I’ve learned, maybe a specialist master is the better fit. What are your thoughts?
