Checking Glassdoor for positions at Blizzard it says 60-100k for a lot of the software engineering positions...not that I'm complaining, but is it normal for the TC/Salary to be that low at Blizzard? Are there other forms of compensation that aren't accounted for? Thought they'd pay more given that it's such a big name company.
I was at a medium size game company (60ish people) making 200k. Moved to amazon game studios and now making 300+. It takes a while to make a lot in game companies but it’s doable. People I hired at my previous job were starting out under 100k. If they performed really well, they could get 10-20% raises. But the best way to increase TC is to jump companies every year or two.

It depends on how well you do in the interview, and how well you can negotiate. Some levels are in that range, I’ve known others to be 100+. Blizzard does tend to be a little lower than some other companies, mainly because working at Blizzard is a dream job for many there. They are usually pretty passionate about everything Blizzard.

The pay at blizzard is insultingly low. The entire company’s benefits program is built around assuming that people are SUPER FANS and willing to give up almost anything to work at blizzard. Unfortunately they are right - but only for a time.

EA doesn't pay poorly, but you definitely won't get what you could make somewhere else. Rough estimates for pay ranges (SE1 gets overtime but no bonus, all other positions get ~20% yearly bonus target): SE1: 70k-80k SE2: 90k-120k SE3: 100k-140k SSE1: 120k-180k SSE2: 140k-220k
That’s poor even compared to the smaller tech companies
Gaming companies always have less pay when compared to other tech companies. The only anomaly is if you work in a big gaming studio - like Santa Monica Studios. They offer big buck but the frequency of getting laid off also increases
