I found this very interesting to see how few people have multiple millions, even in their late years. https://www.myroadtofire.com/blog/average-net-worth-by-age Anyone else feel this way or is it just me living in the silicon valley bubble?
If you find this interesting, you might live in a bubble.
Right? Most obvious outcome ever.
100% bubble
I like how you seem to primarily focus on the 99th percentile as if the columns left to it don't exist.
Always knew median household had very little savings. But interesting to see the percentile breakdown and where I stand. Can't help but wonder how many of that 90th and up percentile individuals owe it to inheritance though. No way we have that many hedge fund bankers and FANG engineers. 97th percentile feels to be about the cap for even the most serious careerists outside the Blind bubble.
Bubble...most people aren’t SWEs making 400k/year.
It’s 100% a bubble, but it might last if immigration laws remain strict for a while. The moment immigration laws relax, you’ll see salaries plummet
Stop trolling. These data are from 2016, before immigration laws became “strict” (read: insane and grossly unfair)
Why do you say it’s unfair?
Even before 2016, immigration laws in the US were very unfair with strong limits on supply coming in from abroad!
Just make it a priority and you can get in the “green” cells. I did and have no intent on retiring.
This is not at all a surprise
