Avoiding Burnout

Starting out at Amazon next month. I’ve heard the horror stories about burnout. I’ve also heard that it depends on your team. Given that I haven’t started, yet, I have to assume that burnout is a real possibility. What tips do folks have for avoiding burnout? Anything I can do to “pace” myself? :-)

Is it better if I say I "read"? You can take it that way, if you'd like.

Yeah start getting screwed by someone else every day so that you develop a habit of what’s to come in your future

I joined recently too and thought things or blind are exaggerated. But they are not, most of the things are true 🥺 Amazonians are honest on blind, listen to them. My team is in the office for 9 hours and they are online from home too later. I would appreciate some tips myself now that I am in

Depends on the team. I just said this in another thread but I work 11 - 4 most days. In AWS. So my wlb is the fuckin tits. Some people on my team are midnight warriors but they are slower and younger. During the approach to re:Invent, it was tough and hours were LONG every day. But outside of that it's been good.

Apple Cassandro Feb 18, 2020

Lol, midnight warriors! Added to my vocabulary
