I think it’s a fun place to be. Each squad has its own culture and events. The company tries to do larger office events as well - office-wide ski trip tomorrow, hackathons 1-2 times per year, and some folks have board game nights in the office. We all have our moments where things can be a drain, when we’re on tight timelines to deliver feature/product/device/etc. I suspect that can be found anywhere though.
+1. Good WLB too.
It’s a old boys club. They randomly fire people all the time. The founder Rick wants to move the engineering team to Vietnam.
Worst place to have on your resume
Management is scattered and non-strategic and are not critical thinkers. As a result, there is a lot of "busyness" and running around, but product quality suffers greatly. I can't speak for all departments, but mine rewards long hours...it's almost a contest to see who can be the most sleep deprived.

Google CFO confirms "large-scale" layoffs today (Apr 17)
Seattle's okay. Leadership is a bust especially on product side and the new guy from Amazon is an asshat, but for ICs especially devs its a good place to work.
Interesting. Any teams in particular to steer clear of?
No team to steer clear of if you are an IC dev. We really do take the no asshole rule seriously when hiring and have been successful with it (at least with devs and most dev managers).
