L6 SDE, 9.5 YOE
Current 2022 TC: 290K 🥲

Extremely unmotivated on my current team but can sometimes coast.

Got offer from MSFT for around 410K with target bonus. Have upcoming interviews with G, Meta, Uber, CB, and a few others.

Question is, should I stay at my job and try to juggle work and interviewing/prep or just give notice and quit so I can focus entirely on my upcoming interviews over the next few weeks? I have no visa issues so don't really need to stay employed. I just like having an income and health insurance.

L6 at 300k? Seems really low.
If you don't mind a gap in your resume, quit.
Would personally just choose to keep working though to keep the lights on.

When people say TC, are they talking about per year or all RSUs combined? Im beginning to think im low balled at amazon seeing all the numbers there because my per year tc is 290 as well.

TC is your yearly average, so if you have a 4 year RSU average it out. With Amazon’s vesting schedule the math’s a little harder but you got this.

I’d accept MSFT for 3 months out, quit, and spend the next 2 months trying to get a better offers. At least 550

Wouldn't accepting an offer then going somewhere else before or soon after starting kinda burn bridges in a way? I don't know if there's a formal blacklist but I feel like it kinda screws over the team, at least at a place like MSFT where you're hired directly into a specific team

Ya maybe you’ll be blacklisted from Microsoft, but if the offer is 150k more, then it’s probably worth it
