Hi guys, Please pitch in which one you like and why? I like azure because of the awesome integration with visual studio. I can do so much in so less time. I would like to know from you guys though.
Azure. AWS may have a bigger portfolio, but for 90% of tasks it’s way too complex and cumbersome to use. Azure automates all of the plumbing for 90% of use cases with a few clicks.
how come startups all use aws? you’d think they would lean toward simplicity
Are you assuming that startups always make the right decisions? My guess is that it’s because their Dev Ops guy knew AWS from a previous job. OR, less likely, because their use cases fall within the minority 10%.
By the way, check out AWS tools for VS. Not quite Azure level of integration, but it helps.
How is working for Azure? AWS is just fire fighting almost every other day and doing project work intermittently.
AWS hands down. Azure is growing only coz MSFT got hooked enterprise client with windows and office. So it is easer to sell through the same Chanel’s
this sounds like an argument for azure
Have any of you actually tried to build and run clusters at scale on Azure? It’s really, really bad. Shit just doesn’t work as advertised. Suuuuuper slow to spin up and attach storage, etc, etc, etc. Just don’t do it.
Do not join Amazon. Crappy managers. too much politics, treat you like a warehouse worker, no nurturing of people, enablement, no growth potential. Moving from team to team is considered growth, no increments annually, after your 4 year stocks run out you leave anyway unless u survive politics before and additional stocks are granted. Absolutely no upward trajectory and opportunities to get into leadership roles. Join Azure
does azure limit u to windows?
nope
