Facebook M1 equivalent at LinkedIn?

Mar 4, 2021 12 Comments

Currently in talks with a #linkedin recruiter for a role. I’m an M1 at #facebook (non tech).

Can somebody tell me what the M1 equivalent for Facebook is at LinkedIn? Also trying to find out:

- what’s the M1-equivalent salary band at LinkedIn
- if recruiter says “we want this person to be promoted fast,” does actually mean anything (I think it’s Bs)

  • M1 should be manager here.

If you want sr manager here, you can get it from m1 level (downleveled case) but you need years of experience managing big teams

  • Recruiter saying Promoted fast can be BS but you’ll have to judge for yourself with respect to the actual team or role you are being offered. If it’s a rather large team and growing, fast promotion is certainly possible assuming you can hit the ground running and successfully manage the scope. Still, less than 1 year is hard to imagine.

For level, If you’ve managed managers for a couple years, you can come in as Sr. Manager but if you have no experience doing that, you’ll only be hired as manager.

  • LinkedIn wouldn’t be able to match your M1 comp if you come as manager. Can probably exceed a bit (stock appreciation aside) if you come in Sr. Manager.
