Been trying to get out of my current place due to not enough relevant work. Had an nvidia onsite last month, seemed pretty ok, thought I did enough to get thru.. got a reject after few days , they said it was close but no. Then had a Microsoft onsite yesterday, I actually answered all the coding questions with decent algos and coded them up , but the feedback was needs less complexity/ speed. Back to square one now. Any guidance on how to proceed ? I’ve been solving on leetcode but not as often and not enough. If I wanna reapply back at these places do they care to call me if I failed so recently?
Dude I’m in the same boat!! U need to have luck!! 😞 I’ve been so disappointed
I believe luck plays a part in onsite interviews.
Keep your head up OP. I have experienced failures in the past at Amazon and Google. As someone stated earlier, sometimes it is not all you but more of team fit or the intangibles that are not on a JD that they are looking for. Just keep working to get better and don’t give up.
Don't give up. Keep trying. You've got this
Leetcode.. u got to finish atleast 250 and redo 100 of them atleast one more time
Yeah just don't give up. I also had an interview with Google that was super close! I got all the way to the committee but then got rejected by possible manager because he thought I didnt think about a problem deep enough? Even the recruiter was super confused by the feedback but it is what it is. Move on and keep applying! :P
At what position are u applying and how much work experience do u have?
Applying for senior sde, roles . I have 7years of work experience. The first 5.5. most of it in c and a little bit of Python.
Thanks so much for the kind words everyone. Yeah I'm gonna have to leetcode more and maybe do a bunch of mock interviews. I'll pause interviewing for a bit to crank up the problem solving .Maybe start back in June. It's tough though once you know you want to get out . It's hard to stay motivated at work while studying /interviewing .
Absolutely right!!
Be patient and keep doing Leetcode. Successful interview depends on lot of factors. You just didn't get everything right in these two. You will eventually have one good interview if you don't give up.
