I was interviewing for M1 last week and I was really excited for FB. However, my interview experience changed the way how I look at FB now. Except for one interviewer, none of the other interviewers were friendly. They directly got into interview without intro ( perhaps to save time), but there was no conversation while I was working with the solution. For coding interview, interviewer joined 7 mins late, he said his previous meeting got delayed, then again in the middle of interview he had to get out of meeting room as he did't have it booked. Also, he didn't have access to coding link, then I shared the screen and he typed looking at the URL. Another interviewer also started the interview late, his child was banging the door almost for 10 minutes and he kept going back and forth. He apologized however his tone of the interview was as though he was not interested. Leaning back and forth on the chair, stretching his hands over his shoulder and kind of mocking at some of my answers. When I was asked if I fired anyone, and I said I didn't. I saw a smirk on his face. And another interviewer, did not have any clue what i was talking about. I am a Front end manager and when I talked about mocks, she didn't know what mocks are. When I said my team is working on project that requires two applications to talk via common interface. She was asking if people talk to each other or application? Anyways, point is experience was not great. I didn't go through the loop saying technically i was good, but leadership answers were shallow. Is this what your experience too?

Hey friend, sorry to hear that. I just recently accepted an M1 offer from meta, and partially it was because the people i met were all super professional, helpful and all seemed like really good people. Sorry you had that experience :(

I’m sorry but you have almost 20 YOE. At this point you should know, interviewing is very much luck based. You win some, you loose some. See you in 6 months.

  • Interviewed as an IC abs experience wasn’t far off. Too robotic for my liking.
