I can't help but feel that the recruiter I'm working with is not on my side. I'm leaving out the name of the company because it's a small one and I'm afraid they can easily identify me from this post. It's been two weeks since I signed the offer letter, but the immigration team still hasn't reached out to me to initiate my H-1B transfer. She promised twice that they would reach out by specific days but those days have passed. Is it normal for companies to take this long for having immigration reach out to candidates? She doesn't reply to emails unless I send multiple emails CCing my hiring manager, and when she does reply, sometimes she removes the hiring manager from the thread? She also seldom apologizes for late responses. In the past, she said my hiring manager and the skip reached a decision regarding the level they're hiring me for (L4), but when I brought this up with my hiring manager he said he wasn't a part of that discussion and they subsequently offered an L5 role. At the beginning when I had my phone screen, she didn't reach out to me for two weeks, at which point I messaged the head of recruiting on LinkedIn. Strangely enough I found another person on Blind with the similar experience and complaints regarding the same recruiter, who also heard back from her after messaging the head of recruiting on LinkedIn. I also got the feeling she didn't respect my timelines from other offers I had. They had 2 weeks to put together an offer, but there was very sparse communication and on the last day she requested me to get a deadline extension from the other company without adequate explanations. It left me very little time to decide between offers. What should I do? I signed the offer letter but I'm not getting the feeling she's on my side. Does this experience reflect the company culture? Am I overthinking it?
Over thinking it. Recruiter won't be part of your experience at th company after your first day so I wouldn't base everything off of that experience. However, your recruiter does sound pretty shitty! 💩
