Hi guys,

Found a small condo I like, except there is only one very small bathroom and it looks like this:

(Not picture but there's a tiny sink right next to toilet also)

Do you think this will make reselling impossible? Is remodeling the shower to to a typical bath tub possible/too costly? Any thoughts/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    It can look great - the problem right now is this closed shower which makes room look more small.

    Go to lowes or home depot in 4 weeks in bathroom remodel dept.

      Yes - for that small place 10k should be good.
      Not sure where are you based, i have heard places like Austin contractors overcharge because there is a shortage of labor.

      Reduce the labor cost by self demo/ removal of tiles and vanity.
      Watch a couple of youtube videos how to demo.

    If you replace it with a bath tub you will also have to redo the flooring and maybe some of the flooring. The final math might be higher than what you are hoping for but should not be too bad

    Just to give you an idea of pricing. We had a small bathroom done almost two years ago. Shower insert was new, so we kept it. Contractor moved the heating vent, replaced vinyl with tile, put in new vanity, toilet, and mirror along with subway tile on wall. Cost $7,500. Seems steep but there’s no way we could’ve made the subway tile look perfect the way our contractor did.

  • Showers/Baths are always costly if you want it done right. 5-10k sounds about right.

    You can have that done professionally and it will look great. Walk-in shower parallel/flush with wall, new tile, toilet, and vanity.
