So just relocated to SF, fiance and I are looking in the city and have found a 2br, 2ba with parking for 4500 in Mission Bay. Is this a good deal? Still reeling from sticker shock in general so would appreciate second opinions.

I would like to say few good words about mission bay since I’ve lived here for a while. It’s new, clean, no homeless laying around, no trash on the ground. People are really nice and friendly in the area. It’s close to muni train & Caltrain, very convenient. New restaurants and coffee shops are coming fast. The best part, Spark, the food truck park. Absolutely my favorite! If you are dog owner, plenty of dog parks close by.

About the going rate at these fancy new buildings, doesn’t feel like SF proper to me, and these are known for steep rent hikes every year. I would sell the car and find an older building that comes with rent control. Uber/Lyft and zipcar etc are much better options in SF unless you have kids and need a car all the time.

that's the appeal to me. it's a good neighborhood.

not all the buildings are rentals. better to find a condo that's being rented out by the owner.

How do you afford paying so much in rent? What your TC (you and spouse)? Why don’t you instead buy a house?

    Hi!
    🧠 .
Seems a little over priced since it’s on the Mission Bay side. But I’m assuming it’s new. Downtown for new buildings you’s get to $4700-4800 for a 900sqft 2br/2ba
