Hi,

I have been looking for a decent sfh (1700 sq ft preferably) around Fremont Newark areas for the past two months under 1.7 and can find no decent home. Reality hit me already and am looking for options around San Jose (South and East) areas which allow me better sq ft by compromising on work commute.

Can you guys suggest zip codes which are safe and decent to live and are under 1.7. Aiming to get into Meta or Google one day, which makes southern tip of SJC also not ideal.

I have heard about 95123, 95136 from people in my financial situation. Unsure how their search turned out to be.

Details-

TC: 300
Kids : 1 under 1 year

Have been living close to calaveras and 880 for 6 years now and the smell is very rare. I would say 2-3 days in a year at max. It has considerably gone down in last few years

    • Read a few months ago that permits to increase dump area and dump heights have been issued. And that the dump will continue to exist for around 15 more years.
      Any more info about this?
Will this cause increased stench and health issues?

95112 Naglee park area or 95126 rose garden area. These are historically nice neighborhood but currently priced lower with nice curb appeals and ppl send their kids to private schools.

Downtown Google campus coming, downtown SJ Bart will also go there. Also tons of city projects to gentrify downtown San Jose. It will be the next Mountain View.

Those are safe area. But since school district isn’t that good anyways, I’d recommend staying closer to downtown San Jose as I believe it has higher potential long term, and send kids to private schools.

Just search for downtown San Jose development in Google or mercury news, and you will see tons of news about them.

You can also include willow glen 95125 in your search but I think you probably can’t get anything for 1.7m

These areas are still like secret gems as not many Asians know about these neighborhood and very few houses go on sale. But drive by them, you will find them to be quite charming.
