Hi folks, I had several rounds with Tencent and now got the position as senior SW video engineer. I want to negotiate my offer and I don’t know how to communicate that effectively. My Intel package is this grade 7, 145k base pay, PhD with 1 year experience. Bonuses: Quarterly 3k, annual 8k. Edited!! I don’t know what level 9 equates to, but 50k rsus. Assuming it’s per year it’s about 240k tc per year which is a lot higher than your current 165 tc at intel. Just keep in mind you likely have to work 12 plus hours everyday since you will likely have meetings with China in your late afternoon.
I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ if they follow 996 pattern in this company but not sure 🤔 I agree 12 hrs is a lot but I got a letter from Intel HR that my position got canceled 🤷🏻♂️so no choice for me as of now
Pretty much every single Chinese tech company follows 996. It’s the culture. Same goes for most Korean companies.
I did FAANG but last round I got rejected in apple and Amazon 😞 so right now I jus need something to settle in and save for the H1B visa grace days. Will keep pushing
Well in your case I suggest you take it. It’s still a good name. If it does turn out to be a killer suck it up for a year and then see if you can interview again.

Still waiting on the paperwork and finishing up interviews with other companies. Not sure how the H1B transfer process gonna take. Any rough estimate how many weeks does it take to do this? Any idea 💡 plz
239K TC is a bit low-balling for T9 (equivalent to Facebook E4). You’d ask more especially because there’ll be much voluntary overtime in Tencent.
