As I have just started, and initial 6 months typically go in training and stuff- how do I achieve the top performer rating in first performance evaluation cycle.

Get to the point advice: if you truly focus on doing what they ask of you brilliantly every day + impress all you work with on the soft skills side every day + deliver multiple things no one asked for that are hugely beneficial + not ask about how to get a top score in every other 1:1 but rather map out your thoughts on your progress, point out things you're working to get better at, and ask for input if any course corrections are needed + market all of the above without alienating people...
