Being on two apartment lease at the same time h1b

My wife got a job in another city and I’m planning to relocate to the new city in the future. We planned to rent an apartment in the new city for her but the landlord is forcing both of us to be on the lease Even though Ll be an interim visitor
Concerned if USCIS would question this!

Both of us are on H1B. Is it okay if I am on two leases in different parts of the country?
