Moved to Bellevue, WA from CT. Why is the Bellevue school district/homes so coveted? Honestly, not that impressed with the schools (although it’s Covid times), especially the teacher’s union. Didn’t do much research and just looked at school ratings. Also with all the tech companies moving into Bellevue, wondering if it’ll turn into Seattle. Haven’t bought yet, so still flexible. Any thoughts on Issaquah? Woodinville? sammamish? Redmond? Is there a teacher’s union / school district that’s not moving towards “woke” left? I’m not MAGA either. Or I may just have to adjust to the reality of PNW life as an east coaster.
My kid is in the worst school I could find in our city cause I ain’t trying to raise no b!tch.
Homeschool FTW! Prevent future generations from being brainwashed into a government dependent mode through your own tax dollars. The time and effort you spend will be rewarded handsomely when your kids grow up to be independent thinkers and doers.
Bingoooo
The Bellevue gifted program is basically private school education for free. If your kid doesn’t get into that, put them in a private school.
This.
Can I ask where these kids go for college?.... and is there factual data between gifted program and future excellence and income?
How is lake Washington gifted program?
Worse than the Bellevue one but decent still.
Teachers unions anywhere == woke. Bellevue is not likely to turn into Seattle from an economic policy perspective because wokeness has not infiltrated the city council yet. PNW + California == hardcore blue. In WA the longtime Secretary of State is a crypto Democrat, and who knows how many other woke moles are out there in positions of power.
So according to you, the entire USA is woke. Or are you telling me republican states don’t have unions?
WA has among the highest union membership in the country and Seattle ranks in the top 3 cities for private school enrollment. Btw if you check union membership by state, there’s a strong correlation between high union membership and democrat tilt
