Walmart and Sam's club people, how is bentonville in Arkansas? Is it that bad? I see cost of living (COL) is not that high, seems like peaceful small town and commute should be short too. Rent is cheaper than other low col cities and since walmart and sam's club headquarters is there I think it might be good for networking. TC: 75K
I heard their HQ is depressing as fuck and used to be a fulfillment center or warehouse or something
You will not believe that it is the headquarters of a Fortune 1 company after looking at their home office building.
My allergies were terrible in the top floor of the hq (former warehouse with no windows). I could hardly breathe. I hear they have a mold problem as well.
There’s a cool art museum nearby and some nice “mountain” biking trails through their hills.
It’s a very typical small town, except for those 2-3 big companies. And I think they also moving away from there. For example Walmart is building new offices in other states. A lot of employees only come to Bentonville once or twice a year for annual company meetings, etc.
Okay. That is interesting. I only know of dallas, Arlington, west coast and nj
I like small towns
Fuck. Bentonville is most racist city in the world.
How? So my Indians there
I do not think so .
It’s Arkansas.
Trash place and that large 2 storey office is an incredible turn off. Feels claustrophobic. Depending upon where you sit you may have to walk a mile to get to your car. Also they used to have a NINE hour work day.
I have heard 9 hour day is still a thing
The company starts pretty early 8AM for the die hards
Schitts Creek!
It's Walmart town. You breathe, eat, drink, and poop Walmart. The HQ are sad and people live in constant fear of being fired. Sheep mentality is obvious to anyone from outside. This is from your junior to the VPs there. This is why innovation stagnates snd things that should have been better (and have happened 5 years ago) like Glass are lauded.
Walmart people are in constant fear? Or just bentonville?
Bentonville, and mainly because there is nothing else around in Bentonville.
Sucks ass but people from there will try to say anything to convince you otherwise to justify their own miserable existence
Damn. Pay is same for dallas and bentonville... Will check with recruiter about dallas
Lol I actually worked there it is terrible in general. It can work for married couples with kids but otherwise night life, dating prospects are trash. Worst 3 years of my life.
Terrible in general or terrible for a young single person that likes to go out?
Terrible for singles that want to date and enjoy metropolitan areas. Fine for married couples with kids.
