Does most of the actual leadership at your company get done by ICs and managers are just there to manage up?

Is it cheaper to eat chipotle everyday than buy groceries ?
Got a verbal offer for an Operations Manager role (non-eng) at a startup in Berlin. I wanted to know if the base gross salary is within market rate and ripe for more negoriation. I really like the product, company growth, team and work but id like to not be low balled so early. Initial Offer Structure: Yearly Base Gross: 56k Sign On: 2k Equity is still in discussion but im counting it as paper money since there’s a long way to go. Will add more details here. YOE: 2.5 #berlin #operations #tc #salary
That is an entry level salary for Germany. It's not terrible, but with "Manager" in your title I would expect another 10k.
Operations Manager is like Product Manager. It's just a title but the role and responsibilities vary. I'm sure the responsibilities that OP would be having at a series B start up would be wide ranging. I think it's worth taking a shot for the experience alone.
Thanks for advice. What’s the general YoE based progression in salary you have seen for Ops managers in Berlin? I wanted to make sure I’m not high balling a lot here. I was thinking of aiming to start off with 65k but still unsure.
Thanks for clarifying the Manager part. There's plenty of startup opportunities in Berlin right now, so I'm sure the OP can move on to something else if this first gig isn't a fit.
Seems like a decent offer based on your YOE. The compensation will also include pension and social security benefits on top of this. Berlin is a little expensive though.
