Currently starting the job search in earnest and wondering what the best (public) tech companies are in Boston for WLB and flexibility. I work at a startup and while the flexibility is great I’m at a point in my life where money at a big company outweighs doing “cool” stuff at a startup. Money and WLB are the most important things in my search. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! TC 150k Product Design - 10+ yoe
Heard a lot of good things about hubspot
Toast, G, Salesforce, Twitter probably
Any hardware companies to recommend?
Robotics companies - my friends there love them. iRobot & Endeavor are places they work
Wayfair. It's all life and barely any work
I hear they don’t pay very well... maybe I’m wrong? At least for product design that’s what it seems...
Yeah it's not top tier but if you join now when the stock price is a little low, you could see some upside in a year or so
Google definitely
Microsoft in Cambridge?
Broad Institute for WLB and flexibility, not for comp. somewhat easy to get 10-13 weeks PTO (not unlimited!) in SW
I keep hearing incredible things about Toast, HubSpot & Drift (they’re not all public but well funded enough). Also check out BIB for jobs https://www.builtinboston.com/jobs
Drift is the last place to go for good WLB and flexibility.
Depends on the role. My friend only has crazy long days 1-2x per month.
MathWorks, private company with great WLB, pay can be a little on lower side
