Any recommendation for good high yield savings account? American express offers 2.10% APY savings account. Any catch here?
I second Ally. They've been raising rates consistently. There's also Marcus at Goldman Sachs at 2.25%.
I’ve been using AmEx for years, rate has only gone up and never down, I’ve never had issues transferring money in or out
Do they have any upper limit?
Shameless plug, but Marcus with 2.25% is pretty good.
Redneck bank offers 3 percent on checking account upto $10K. FDIC insured. Their money market account offers 2.5 percent.
Never heard about this bank!
But its called redneck
Try junk bonds.
Synchrony Bank
CIT bank 2.45
T-bills and I bonds are better these days, especially in CA.
Looks like these are state tax exempt. Will try T-bills..
Which one do you recommend for someone who is not a citizen here ? Pnc bank states you need to be a citizen. I do not want to deal with opening NRE savings account in India and transferring money, pulling it back in a few years and paying taxes on the foreign income. Too much BS with the Dollar rippers fluctuation every year as well. Lot of folks online suggest Ally bank.
pnc bank has a 2.35% one now but not sure if it is variable. most people use ally that i talk to, it’s 2.20% fixed and they won’t change it on you
They will certainly change it on you, as rates change. Rates have been going up and therefore so have Ally’s rates (and others). Ally has consistently stayed competitive over the last year though.
