Talking with respect to all these hotel chains. I am normally a Hilton or Westin/Marriott kind of girl. Have a Gold Honors status at Hilton and Silver Status at SPG. I had heard great reviews of Hyatt being pretty good in the same category - so during my recent trip to Chicago I stayed at Hyatt Regency. It was horrible, felt a highway motel would be better and this in the city where Hyatt is based out of. Not considering hotels like Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental, which hotel chain do you think is the best for budget friendly travelers. Also which brand of hotel in the parent company. I personally like Westin brand in SPG. [UPDATES] Yes, true. My questions is kind of mixed up. I apologize for the same. Budget is not the right word. I am looking for a hotel which has a balance of comfort and price. Nothing cheap like the Red Roof but nothing like superbly expensive like the Mandarin Oriental. Looking for a nice hotel where I can go. Would like it to be family friendly chain where I can go with my boyfriend and our little girls. I normally stick to hotel brands like Hilton and Marriott and would like something in that category. Had stayed at Novotel when I and my boyfriend went to Phuket, loved that also. Don't see much Novotel here in US. Have stayed at Four Seasons when we were in Hawaii, that was magnificent but drilled a hole in my pocket. Have also stayed at Ritz in Berlin. Have also been at the other end of spectrum and stayed at Red Roof and America Best Value Inn when I was at Purdue and was always on a budget. Don't know much about Taj or Lalit. I know we have a Taj here in Boston.
Motel. 6
SPG. Westin always good
I only stay at Four Seasons

Taj, oberoi, lalit are top of the notch. But they are expensive and I don’t think they have many properties in the US.
You mix your ideas OP. In heading, you ask for the best hotel. Then in main dialog you talk about budget friendly? What u want, the best or cheap?
Cheap is not the right word. Thanks for correcting me.
W for business trips, Ritz for personal travel
Hilton, Kimpton, four seasons
Hilton hotels are the worst
Westin here too. Marriott merging with SPG is good for me, where I normally travel.
Seems massive devaluation of point value though.
It's good they merged but the merger was not so smooth. My points from Marriott and SPG all got messed up.
