Best Smartphone to buy right now

I am thinking of buying a smartphone for myself. I have shortlisted few phones already. I am an iPhone user currently. I have used android in the past, so don’t mind going back to android again. Was thinking of buying iPhone XS, but then checked out the latest S10 phones and it is tempting me to go back to android. So need an unbiased opinion. I don’t like big screens and hence ruled out the XS max and s10+.

I'd pick them in this order: S10, S10+, OP7p, Pixel 3, iPhone XS, Pixel 3xl, Pixel 3a, other.

Correct that’s the reason thinking of getting an s10 compared to xs, s10 is 400$ cheaper as well.
