Super frustrated with AT&T fiber or WiFi. The connection is weak and insufficient for 2b2b. Even with fiber network only one device can get max access. Curious how are others managing it.#remotework #wfh
Are you not using mesh wi-fi network?
We’ve not tried that. Any recommendations? We are willing to try Google Nest Wifi
Google Nest sucked for me. I got Netgear Orbi RBK13 and it works great. Although it drops gigabit speeds to 700mbps levels. The ideal router for gigabit speeds would be Orbi rbl 23 but its expensive.
Just buy a better router?
Any recommendations?
Use NetSpot to check other wifi Networks in your area for channel interference and configure your wifi to use different channel. The wifi router supplied by ISP like AT&T or Comcast is shit. I rather use my own wifi router. If you have the budget, get a Wifi6 (AX) routers.
Is NetSpot a paid service? For router, we actually have the NBS AT&T BGW-320 500 model which supposedly is the Wifi AX model you’re referring to I guess. This one came from ATnT.
NetSpot can be used free (minus full features) but is enough to show neighboring wifi signals, their channels, brand of wifi router, mac address. Sounds like you have AT&T fiber to the premises (direct fiber into your house) and you have to use the BGW-320 500 modem and pay them monthly (equipment fee). The best location to place the modem would be in the center of your house but I think the AT&T tech might have just simply chosen an easy spot where the fiber cable comes in on one side of your house and connect the modem there. Your wifi devices could also be a factor if they are don’t have AX (wifi 6) radio to take full advantage of the spectrum.
