Best month to start at Facebook for comp maximization
What is the ESPP, Bonus and RSU cycles and eligibility timeframe at Facebook ? Asking to get an idea about the best time to join to maximize these benefits. For Intel: Annual Bonus: Full eligibility if employed Jan 1-Dec 31; prorated otherwise; Must be employed by Dec 31 of current year to collect bonus in Q1 next year. Quarterly Bonus: 1.5 months after every quarter worked ESPP 2 cycles: Feb - August(eligible to contribute if employed by Jan31); August - Feb(eligible to contribute if employed by Jul 31) RSU: end of quarter+ 2 months is when grants show up. So if one were to start in Dec they get to start ESPP in feb, RSU grants show up in Feb, qualify for full annual bonus for next year, get 3 full quarterly bonuses in the next year, 1 prorated quarterly bonus (for dec earnings) etc.
you need to factor in the difference in your current comp and the potential new comp. Whether you are leaving any bonus/RSU behind that could have been vested. Once you have the offer, they will share with you the vesting schedule and so on. You can pick your start dates....
