My dad (boomer) is looking to switch jobs for a couple years before he retires. From what I understand he has a masters in CS and is an expert at UNIX/Linux, Jenkins, and stuff like that. I don’t know too much about that world tbh (I’m a front end dev). He currently is low (relatively) paid and been interviewing for top tech comp. What sort of companies should he be applying to? TC: 140k
He should apply to some of the smaller companies that still pay well. Those companies are always looking for good ci/cd and devops people to build up their test automation and pre-merge infrastructure. Don’t really have any names at the moment but lot of good stuff on LinkedIn jobs section if you search cicd, devops, or developer productivity, etc.
The best paying? Hedge funds but you'll run fire drills every week or day
what role ? Maang + salesforce
