Currently fully remote running my own software development agency and freelancing. I have been doing this for about 2-3 years now out of South Florida. I love where I live, but feel I may be limiting myself compared to if i lived somewhere like Seattle or California with bigger tech scene. Where would you guys recommend in the case of fully remote work? TC: 150K
Somewhere with a low COL like Raleigh, NC. The weather is also nice.
Texas. No state tax and low enough cost of living with growing tech scenes in Dallas/Austin
Where the most amount of people and diversity of things to do are, NYC
Where you want to live. That's the point of remote work, right?
Montana
Idaho, or maybe Salt Lake City even. Cheaper cost of living, and not too far from tech hubs.
I really like Salt Lake City. It’s got decent tech presence and affordable cost of living. It gets a lot of snow though.
+1
Another place is Denver, CO, but again it gets a lot of snow. If you could live anywhere, you could try Vegas. Great airports, all year fun, and beaches/ mountains are not too far (4hr drive)
And the residential areas/rest of the city are nothing like the strip, which a lot of people don’t seem to realize, so you don’t have to worry about constant hustle and bustle
Panama
San Diego, CA
Would love it just worried about costs. Now I live in waterfront condo on 22nd floor for $2k/month 😅
And paying 10% of your pretax income for no apparent benefit
