Best video chat for overseas parents?
I video chat my parents once or twice a week. Am super busy with my own kids and time zones offer small windows to call. So it’s frustrating that Skype seems to be getting worse... I’m wondering what other people have found reliable? Do you communicate more on WhatsApp? How much text vs video chat with parents?

My parents were overseas for a few years and we always used hangouts without any issues

WhatsApp and Messenger. I generally have a group chat thread with my mom, dad, and sister on Messenger. Group video call works wonderfully.

Skype and Hangouts suck. half the conversation is just.. can you hear me? I can't see you... 😩
Hangouts always pushes cpu util to 80-90% and consequently kills battery on my i7 windows laptop.
I always wonder if hangouts do Bitcoin mining during the call. Kills Mac book pros battery in an hour.
