Accepted an offer from the Azure Commerce and Ecosystems team (I know blind thinks its shit but it was the best offer I had) and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as to technologies/processes/books that I should familiarize myself with to get off to the best start. I've already worked on C# and ASP but any Azure services, design paradigms, non technical stuff, or book suggestions would be awesome. TC: L59 - 166k
Level? Learn how to kiss ass. That'll help you more than your technical chops.
L59, I've been pretty good at Brown Nosing my manager before so hopefully I can retain those skills.
In that case, watch out, Satya! What's the breakdown?
Leetcode is the best way to learn IRL skills
You need to RUN
Ok I probably should give more detail. I worked in that team. Multiple really talented people including upper management left and now that place is a mess. The CVP doesn’t know what she is doing and just randomly pushing for super stupid stuff. I bet she will be gone by the end of this FY if she keep doing what she is doing. If you have any other options, go for that. Literally anything else will be better
It’s Microsoft man. Just chill and work 40 hours and you’ll be the hardest working person there. It’s a country club
The jealousy bleeds through in your commentary...
He’s right though
Just take it easy and enjoy the on boarding process. You will learn as you pick up tasks. No need to prepare too much before your start date.
