So, I am came across this article:

The data it provides comes from the governor of NY so it's not fake news. It seems to me that it is important to explain to people that the current uptick in hospitalizations due to omicron is not the same as previous covid waves and traditional stats of # of patients hospitalized with covid do not mean the same thing they used to before. However, a quick google search only shows this fact being reported by traditionally conservative outlets (fox news, ny post). When people whine about liberal bias in the media, this is what they're talking about.

    Exactly, they don’t technically lie but they hide the details and set it up as if it’s as per their narrative. However this is done by all of media regardless of color and country.

      Meh I mean this happens everywhere with everything. At the end of the day the only fake narratives people care to dismantle are the ones they are bothered by. Look at reporting on China - just because it’s bipartisan doesn’t mean there’s not an intentional narrative being constructed for it.

  • What’s the story here?

    Hospitals have started breaking out hospitalizations from COVID and hospitalizations with COVID since the omicron variant has gone hog wild. Some faster than others.

    If you close your eyes and plug your ears you can whatever kind of bias you want.

      I agree that the narrative has slowly (like, glacially) been changing from cases to hospitalizations. It's still case-driven in most places (decisions to close schools, indoor mask mandates, etc). Now, I think it almost needs to be go post-hospitalization (or at least, we need to start better tracking covid-symptom hospitalizations rather than just hospitalized with covid).
