Everyone does it but what's the biggest lie you've told to a potential employer?
I am interested in the company/role, when it was really just a practice interview.
Your supposition that everyone lies during interviews/on resume is false.
Yup. Don't lie in a job interview OP.
This isn't an interview, so why are you lying?
This is the case with most of us i guess
Some of us don't really need to lie on resumes or interviews. As especially once you get enough experience and start taking on more challenging roles you would actually want to keep some of the stuff out of your resume. Only keep what your most technical at on your resume.
Never lie on resume, not necessary if you are competent
Why would you lie? If I can't back it up, Ill get called on it. I did lie salary though and got a 60% raise
So only lie if you know you can't get caught. Got it!
Information asymmetry works both ways. The hiring company has access to information I don't and I have information they don't
Lieing on your resume is a bad idea. If you get the job and your lie is discovered later on you could end up fired and humiliated.
Once I attended a two days training for some tech and added that in resume. The guy who was interviewing me apperently was very experienced in that particular tech. Needless to say he was enjoying and I was looking for exit door
When I was 16 I lied on an application for a job at Panda Express. I had never had a job before, but I put on the application I used to work at Target and I made up names and phone numbers of references. Totally worked.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. I thought panda was a Tier-1 fast food place!
@wXfl07 have you NOT heard of SIMCC? Starbucks In n Out McDonalds Chipotle and Chick fil A are the Tier 1 Big FastFood companies now!
