  • If I buy shares, I own a part of the company. I may get voting rights or dividends.

If I buy gold, I own a tangible commodity. I can sell it or convert it into a processed good.

If I buy BTC, what can I do with it? Converting it back and forth between USD doesn’t really count as an option.

@walmart I can't take more than few thousand $ outside the country in cash. 10k USD if I remember correctly. More would involve more scrutiny and justification. Is that true for crypto ? One can pay millions of $ to transact drug or for arms trade. Millions of $ in cash, even in domestic transaction is not easy. Forget international. Hawala does happen with cash. More easy in even larger scale with Crypto.

Quoting what was said in G7 countries meeting "We must do everything possible to make sure the currency monopoly remains in the hands of states." If crypto can't be used in G7, practically it becomes absolute. https://www.reuters.com/article/g7-digital-idUSKBN28H1Y6
