Not sure about American culture. But on blind, the culture is to introduce yourself with your TC. Otherwise people will tell you to GTFO. 😉

Just be yourself, we’re a melting pot of different people and ideas. But please wear deodorant and chew with your mouth closed is all I ask. Despite what the media claims with regard to racism, xenophobia, etc. the US is likely the most welcoming of outsiders of any country in the world.
