In view of HR 1044, I see many people showing so much hate and posting negative comments against consultant engineers, and many others acknowledge or just accept it. They are just normal human beings like rest of us and many seek better prospects and living. Some of them are smart and moved on to tech and internet companies, and some of them may not be as smart as high paid engineers but try to lead their own decent lives. Employment based green cards are applied for them after passing the same criteria as rest of the us. Please try to show some respect while talking about other fellow human beings, Hating them on a particular criteria is wrong.
My friends are US citizen and could not find a job. Sigh
After becoming a citizen my full time job offers basically increased exponentially
Good on you, Yahoo! The fact that such educated people fail to show basic respect while talking about fellow co-workers is astonishing. Before posting something, read your message and consider that you are writing about an actual human/family.
Is this why? Lower salary but take out most of quota.
Most of these consultants work at the IT departments of manufacturing, banking, and all other non tech sectors. So the right comparison is with database administrator pay at 3M IT, not with L62 base at Microsoft Corporation.
I don’t have those data, so I can’t say yes or no. We need to be data driven.
Point is - companies should be punished than humans. But in capitalism, that's just a dream. Basically US intends to use cheap workers to be competitive with rest of world, they will just not accept it in open. Same reason why nothing is done for illegal immigration because believe it or not, US needs illegal immigration for low-paying jobs. Capitalism & it is not going to change, economy needs certain humans that can be exploited to keep it running.
There is nothing wrong with consultants. There is something wrong with people who want to screw up the whole world. So everyone will be in pain, not only them. Shame on them!
Under the current uscis criteria they would not even be here in such large numbers, probably the backlog would be a lot less if uscis does their job.
Little outdated but still impacting everyone https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/11/06/us/outsourcing-companies-dominate-h1b-visas.html
Amen to that
