"Most discussion at Facebook happens on the company’s workplace version of the social network, in various company groups. But when the news is about Facebook’s leadership, some employees have found it easier to talk when they’re unnamed. They used Blind, the anonymous employee chat app, to raise their concerns, according to screenshots obtained by Bloomberg. On Thursday, the conversations were full of outrage. How could Sandberg – and chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg – have failed to see the threat to the company? And how could they have managed all of this so poorly? “Why does our company suck at having a moral compass?” one employee asked, in a message linked to the New York Times story. “Zuckerberg defers too much to others on issues where he needs to make a call,’’ another said, also anonymously, in the same thread. “I’m f-ing exhausted of cleaning up after the sloppy and careless mistakes that made so many of the people responsible for them so, so rich,” said a third. Despite the controversy, some employees on Blind defended the tactics. “I think the reality of running a global corporation as large as FB is that you have to dirty yourself in the trenches,’’ one person said. “These all seem like pragmatic albeit ruthless and morally sketchy business decisions.’’ “Honestly, I respect Sheryl a lot more after reading this,’’ another said. ====================== Guys.... I feel ya. This could have been any one of us working there too. But it's time to start looking for a safe exit. Facebook is a stain in Internet history. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/facebook-morale-already-hurt-share-004407132.html
They can shut down Facebook and change the name to Instagram and still make buckets of cash so near future is still bright
"Getting rich has been a sore subject inside Facebook recently, especially for those, like the third poster, who joined long after the 2012 initial public offering. The company’s stock has been on the decline, ever since Facebook reported in July that it expected growth to slow in future years. Thursday marked a regularly scheduled vesting event for employee stock, according to people familiar with the matter. But it’s worth 34 percent less than at its peak in July of this year."
That couldn't be further from the truth. The way social media is changing is too quick for Facebook to keep up. Niches are too perfected by smaller organizations that give users exactly what they want and not just a king of sort of version.
A lot of this shit happens when big companies try to "feel small" and gives every group the autonomy they crave.
Wonder how Twitter or Reddit is perceived better than FB? Apparently less users, less ways to create and share content, less data collected, so less threats for mass media which likes to throw shit on the fan to sink competitors.
Sure, it’s the bad media doing this
Seriously, if FB is a stain on Internet history, as OP believes, how Twitter is better?
Holy shit. Talk about cherry picking comments. Total garbage.
Everybody shits on their company in Blind. That’s the beauty of it.
You are what your record says it is. Obviously zuck is super smart. He could have cashed out of fb 10 years back with 2B, He didn’t because of the conviction he has in the product. You guys keep trash talking, but he’s only going to go up.
I think they need some adult supervision, some really strong legal experts or perhaps someone who could be Zuckerberg # 2 just like Google had Schmidt. Looks really bad on CEO if he is not involved in making decisions about foreign entities => that stuff has to go all the way to CEO to make some tough decisions. However, does not seem like that kind of stuff interests Zuckerberg. Might be better if he becomes head of the product and hires someone else to be the CEO.
It’s bad enough having to work with Facebook as an advertiser and deal with 12 year olds who run ad policy..... I can’t even imagine with putting up with the shit that goes on there. We have truly seen Peak FB... it’s all down hill from here indeed.

It’s all going downhill for FB now with no end in sight.
The problem is the whole edifice is built on a vision from an 18 year old, who's since lived a life completely detached from the real world. That's the one man who has complete effective control over this company. He's just now 34 and thinks he understands the world enough to be its Caesar. And with privacy law coming, this company has no real future.
