Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
Hi, I recently had a virtual onsite interview with Bloomberg. The interview was one day schedule with at least two interview planned and based on that further rounds were planned. So the day ended up me appearing for 6 round of interviews one of them being an informal round. I was under the impression that the rejection usually happens after the first two rounds it if you end up appearing for all the interviews then there is a good chance of getting the offer. But the update I received was negative with no proper feedback. Just wanted to know from people out there if you have any such experience?
you had 2 rounds with managers?
Yes
you most likely failed those rounds
How long after your onsite did you receive the update? I had an onsite last week and am still waiting for a response.
Did you get the update?
2 days
Bloomberg is pretty random, move on.
How was your experience clari?
In my 2nd round, I was asked a SQL kinda question. Design a table and query for a simple case. I was rejected after 2 rounds mentioning my strengths do not fit theirs. I was like LOL. Any advanced SQL can be learnt in no time, surprising they check such silly things.
Nope this was for experienced
Yes u probably failed the manager round. Although I have seen since I am also part of interview panel that after tech round also u cannfail manager round like not a team fit or engineering fit. Or if there is not a concrete yes
Just curious how do you determine that you're not a good team fit or engineering fit? Like your tech stack doesn't align with theirs or your past experiences aren't strong enough?
Can you tell your system design round experience?
Your performance was not good enough. Most interviewers didn't feel that you're better than the average Bloomberg employee.
Okay, probably in that case I guess I wouldn’t have progressed to manager round. The interview might have terminated in the first two virtual on-site rounds itself?
Yes, if both of the first two rounds say no. Your performance was somewhat borderline, that's why you got to manager round
Hey, I know I am late but if I may ask. Was this for a new grad role?
6 rounds wth? Where do you think you messed up OP?
Yep six rounds + 2 telephonic rounds. I am not even sure what went wrong 😑.
That's insane! Waste of time wow
