Cleared the interviews for Bloomberg london. How is work at Intraday Analytics team at Bloomberg? What would be a good offer for the same role. YoE - 4 Current TC - 66LPA #bloomberg #london
Hi OP, can you please share your interview experience?
hi Op, I interviewed for same role recently. I was doing similar work currently too. May I DM you for quick chat ? (some insight I can share on work & also get visibility on next steps from you)
If you're reaching 4 yoe this summer then 120-140k including base and bonus. Relocation is 10k USD extra. If you're reaching 5 yoe this summer then add 5k to both min and max. Really depends on how good your interviews went.
Isn't 140k is too low right? I thought Meta pays around 170-180k for same yoe
Meta pays 170k for E5. Meta E4 is also around 140k, Amazon SDE 2 in UK is around 120-130k on average at this YOE. As for 140k, assuming you get 100% of your bonus which is pretty common in bbg from what I've read, you're looking at about 88k pounds per year post tax. If you get a room in a shared apartment, expenses would generally be around 2k pounds per month so you save around 64k pounds per year which is about 64 lakhs. If you spend about 3k pounds per month, which would be the case if you get a studio by yourself, you're looking at about 52k pounds in savings. You be the judge of whether that's too less or enough based on your yoe. In my opinion, money's not the reason to go to London. 140k in London is equivalent to earning like 75-80 lakhs in India when adjusted for PPP. You could easily get that if you interview at Amazon right now. However, in terms of quality of life, standard of living, experiences, travelling, UK would be a better option. I'd assume at 4 yoe you're not married so if you're happy to consider leaving your family behind for a while, go for it. Otherwise, interview at Amazon, Airbnb, Uber, Rubrik or any of the other high paying companies in India and go with them. Neither option is wrong, comes down to a matter of personal choice.
