Bloomberg Senior SWE offer to work on semi-low latency stuff (mostly C++). A far cry from what I do now. YoE: Just crossed the 4 year mark and am in fifth year. Base is 180k, bonus is 30k guaranteed at 80% for two years and prorated to the start date. Not too shabby methinks. How about everyone else.
Standard package
How much room is their to negotiate?
Not sure... I am going to onsite next week, any tips please?
Some time ago i had an offer that was about 220k for 2yoe... (Base was a bit lower though)
Which location
NYC
By bonus of 80%, is it 80% of base or 80% of 30 k? Base is decent
80% of bonus is guaranteed, subject to being prorated when I start. Base is base and won't change.
I guess it’s a pretty good offer for 3yoe... tc > 200k is pretty ok for nyc
Pls interview somewhere else also. Bloomberg shouldn't be your first option
Care to elaborate why?
Imo Bloomberg is good compare to most company but relative to top tech company like Google, airbnb, etc we don't use as much shiny and new tech. Getting better and more and more teams are getting more modern and using shiny stuff but as a whole, doesn't look like we aged well when you compare the tech at the top top tech companies. But against say most fortune 500 companies were doing just fine.
Any room to negotiate?
There's always room.

How can I find success dating in NYC
RSUs?
Bloomberg is private so they do not offer equity but offer a cash bonus and larger base instead. No way in hell Mr. Bloomberg is parting with his shares.
