Surprisingly, Bloomberg recently announced similar but less severe tax policies on the financial industry as those of Bernie and Warren, even though he built his fortune from the industry. Does this impact who you want to win for the democratic primary? Which candidates do you believe will be less stringent on this industry, if any?
The shocking one was financial transaction tax, which Bernie first endorsed. That would destroy the finance industry and by extension Bloomberg LP lol. I am shocked he mentioned it. That said, he also did say he would sell Bloomberg LP if he were president... Maybe the idea is to con the potential rich buyers of his company, and screw everyone in NYC after he has no more skin in the game. It's a very strange move but perhaps a high stakes move meant to grab some votes away from Bernie.
Did not know that he planned to sell if he won. He’s really going all in to become president
A transaction tax definitely wouldn't kill Bloomberg LP or the financial industry, but it might kill high frequency trading
It isn't too surprising. I think everyone realizes now that the growing inequalities between people can no longer continue. I have recently heard Zuckerberg say in interviews that billionaires should not exist. On a different level, the millions that partners or MDs are doing should probably be taxed even more.
Zuckerberg meant that no OTHER billionaire should exist.
LOL but seriously do you think Zuckerberg truly believes that or is just saying that for PR purposes
How is this surprising? The billionaire who made his fortune from his companies chooses to give tax breaks to corporations? How could anyone have seen this coming
I think this is literally the opposite of what OP was saying. It’s surprising that Bloomberg has become such a leftist after building his own business.
qxrK88 should reread my post..
