Hi, Can someone from Bloomberg tell me whether the following two positions are on legacy code? https://careers.bloomberg.com/job/detail/83512?lc=Frankfurt https://careers.bloomberg.com/job/detail/83931 On top of that I have the following questions: 1) How's the office in Lugano in terms of quality of life? Is pay relatively high to the CoL? 2) After how long that I join can I change team/site? Is relocation for internal moving provided? 3) Is LC the best way to prepare also for Bloomberg? Thanks a lot!
I doubt either would have a lot of legacy, for the simple fact that European teams are newer and so are the products they build. Lugano PORT has a solid reputation for high quality code, haven’t heard anything about Frankfurt. Never been to or interviewed with a European office, so I can’t help much with other questions, but LC is a safe bet and internal mobility is high.
What about constraints for internal mobility? Can I change team after one year? Will I have to do another interview? Will they pay relocation?
I think we’ve done away with minimum tenure requirements for changing teams. Check with HR on that one but they generally want you to be happy. You’ll have to interview with the teams you want to join, but usually this is an informal conversation to talk about your recent contributions and gauge your fit. Networking is extremely important — if the team already knows you and thinks you’re cool, it’ll be easy to join them. I don’t know if we pay relocation.
I’m interested in Lugano as well for a possible move from UK, not now but in the future
